We are looking for a skilled Python Developer to join the team and take ownership of maturing and enhancing an application. This internally developed application, initially a prototype created by the service department team, is designed to assess the expected and perceived performance of the serviceability of a printer product line. Following a successful pilot, the application is now ready to be developed into a scalable and robust solution.

The application consists of both a front-end and a back-end application:

• The front-end component allows users to define product line decomposition by breaking them down into mechanical parts and specifying metrics like MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) for each part.
• The back-end performs simulations of ‘what-if’ scenarios for growing Machine in Field (MIF) sizes. This functionality supports strategic decisions in the design and engineering of the printer products.

The application is built using Python, with a core emphasis on data analysis and statistical simulations. While there is some focus on the front end, particularly in implementing interactive visualizations with Dash and Plotly, the primary focus of this role will be on strengthening the back end of the application.

• A Master's degree in Computer Science or a Bachelor’s degree in Software Development.
• Experience in Python development, particularly with back-end applications.
• Experience/affinity with data engineering, including data loading, processing, and validation.
• Familiarity with Dash for web application development and Plotly for interactive visualizations is nice to have.
• Basic knowledge of deploying applications to servers and understanding of cloud environments.
• Experience with or knowledge of basic stochastic models and simulations is a plus.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with domain experts and data analysts to incorporate their insights into the application development.
• Fluent in English both written and verbally.
